CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

Our children’s ministry seeks to teach biblical truths at age-appropriate levels, in order to increase the children’s understanding of God’s word, encourage them to trust in Christ, and train them for Christian living. We seek to glorify God by coming alongside parents in order to train children, encourage families, and spread the gospel through our church and community.

He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach their children, that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God… (Psalm 78:5–7)

SUNDAY SCHOOL

  • Our Sunday school classes are designed to support parents in the work of evangelizing and discipling children.
Instruction aims at moving children toward Christ.
  • Currently, we offer classes for children up to twelve years old during Sunday school and up to five years old during the second service.
  • The Sunday school and second service classes teach different lessons each Sunday (for children who might attend both).
  • We use the Generations of Grace curriculum for our Sunday school classes, with lessons tailored to each age group. The curriculum covers lessons from Genesis to Revelation over a three-year cycle.
  • We encourage you to engage with your children throughout the week about what they are learning. A family devotional that corresponds to the lessons taught each week is available for families who would like to use it.
  • Teaching teams are comprised of adult members who attend regular training and submit to a background check.

NURSERY

  • Our nursery is ready to care for your 0-36 month-old child during Sunday school and/or the second main service. Our nursery is intended to provide care for children who are too young to pay attention so that parents can focus on the teaching.
  • At least three trained volunteers will staff the nursery, with additional helpers as necessary.
  • Please do not place your child in the nursery if he or she has displayed symptoms of sickness during the previous day.
  • When you drop your child off, please inform the nursery worker of any special instructions about bottle feeding or diaper changes.
  • Please include in your diaper bag: one or two diapers, wipes, a change of clothes, and any item which may be of particular comfort to your child (pacifier, blanket, etc.).
  • Please mark personal items with your child’s name.
  • We use an app to check children in and out. If we need to contact you during the service, we will text you via the phone number you provide.

FOR PARENTS

  • Children of any age are welcome in our worship service.
  • We use a secure app to check children in and out and take care to provide a safe environment for our children. Children’s ministry volunteers attend regular training and submit to background checks.
  • We encourage you to bring your child early enough to give yourself plenty of time for check-in and to get to the service.
  • Please pick up your child promptly following the service. Typically, the child’s parent or guardian should pick up a child from class or nursery, though parents can arrange, in advance, for additional persons to pick up their child(ren).
  • We would love to get to know you. Feel free to reach out to connect with any of our children’s ministry workers.
